Caring for silk scarves

Most women's wardrobes include accessories like a silk scarf or other items made from delicate silk fabric, such as a home kimono, pareo, shawl, pashmina, etc. When speaking of scarves, it's important to emphasize their versatility – they can be worn not only around the neck but also on the head, as a top in various styles, over a suit, on a bag, etc. The question naturally arises: "How to care for a silk scarf?" After all, everyone wants to preserve the beauty and lightness of this fabric for as long as possible, so that it can delight its owner for many years to come. Here are some top tips for caring for silk. Dry cleaning The most appropriate and proven method for caring for silk scarves and other products is dry cleaning. Manufacturers provide appropriate labeling. Silk is one of the most delicate fabrics, requiring professional care. The goal of any care is to preserve the scarf's shape and color vibrancy. Gentle hand wash Sometimes the product isn't too dirty, so an alternative option to freshen up your scarf may be a gentle wash at home. We recommend hand washing only. Hand washing yourself Fill a bowl with water no warmer than 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) and add the appropriate amount of liquid silk detergent. This can be shampoo or concentrated soap purchased at a store. Submerge the scarf and gently "rock" it in the water several times. You can change the water several times, but the intensity of the movements should not change. Remove it from the water, do not wring it or squeeze it to prevent it from losing its shape, and allow the water to drain freely. Then, spread it out on a horizontal surface, such as a towel, to dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight and avoiding the use of heating devices. Ironing Silk should not be over-dried, as it is ironed with a slightly damp iron on the reverse side, using the silk setting. Over-drying silk can lead to unwanted stains on the product. Important It's not recommended to spray eau de toilette or perfume directly onto the scarf, as this can cause stains and alter the pattern. With proper care, this silk accessory will delight its owner for many years. Store the scarf in airy packaging or on hangers, carefully tied in a knot.

The timeless fashion for pocket squares

We believe that having a variety of scarves and shawls is always a must-have in both women's and men's wardrobes. Today, we'll talk about men's pocket squares. A pocket square is a men's wardrobe accessory that's no longer considered essential these days. However, anyone who chooses to wear one in their jacket breast pocket expresses their individuality while also sending a subtle signal about the elegance or casual nature of their look. Initially, the pocket square was used solely for hygiene purposes. In the 18th century, when snuff was in vogue, pocket squares were used to cover the mouth and nose when sneezing or wiping hands. Over time, they also began to be used to prevent coins from falling out of pockets. Back then, the pocket square was worn not in the outer pocket, as we see today, but in the side pocket of trousers. Its function changed, but its presence in men's attire remained unchanged. The pocket square's popularity only grew. In the 19th century, as the modern men's suit was taking shape, jackets began to feature an elegant pocket on the upper lapel, intended for a pocket square. Its popularity grew to such an extent that leaving this pocket "naked" became unacceptable. The Jazz Age ultimately cemented the pocket square's place on the upper part of the jacket, where it remains to this day. For men, this accessory always adds elegance, demonstrates attention to detail, and an overall refinement of style. Some requirements for a pocket square: It's always square, and its standard dimensions are: 26x26 cm, 30x30 cm, 35x35 cm, and 45x45 cm. The choice of dimensions depends on the fabric. Choose pocket squares made from natural fabrics. Natural silk, for example, always adds a touch of sophistication. Cotton, linen, and cashmere pocket squares also look great. The edges of a good pocket square should be rolled up and hand-stitched. The pocket square should be folded so that 1/3 of its part (approximately 3-4 cm) sticks out of the breast pocket. Remember that a pocket square is a stylish, lightweight, and versatile accessory that will earn you a reputation for paying attention to every detail.
